999-911 Challenge
Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to let you know that we are organising a series of events to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy when more than 3,000 people lost their lives in the attack on New York’s World Trade Centre in 2001, in a bid to raise money for the New York and UK Fire Fighters Charities.
The programme of events will culminate in a spectacular challenge, when a team from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service will attempt to circumnavigate the UK coastline in an inflatable boat in 9 days, 9 hours and 9 minutes.
To raise awareness of this challenge (and some money!), we are holding a Gala Dinner and Charity Auction on Saturday, July 30, at Edgeley Park – the home of Sale Sharks and Stockport County FC.
Tickets are £22.50 each which includes a three-course meal and a Motown tribute band and disco, with dancing into the small hours of the morning. Tickets are available individually or as a table of 10. If you wish to purchase tickets please contact 0161 286 8891 or e-mail erika.robinson@salesharks.co.uk.
If you are unable to attend but are able to contribute by donating an item for the auction or raffle this would be very much appreciated.
