HD Manchester, Leeds, Doncaster, Closed??

Quote (today) from another forum I read, I don't know how true this is, but thought it worth posting on here for info & confirmation;

"My local Harley Davidson dealer closed last week ( Manchester HD ). 4 yrs ago they were the biggest selling dealership throughout Europe. Yesterday both Leeds and Doncaster Harley closed. 3 x dealers all in same group gone within a week. "

Doesn't sound good though

Can't say I surprised (if it's true)...

I'd rather go almost anywhere than an 'Official' HD Dealer :augie

Also, a lot of people who buy new HD's are fashion victims anyway.

Next year it'll be a JetSki, or a Porsche, or a house in Spain, or whatever.

Thats a shame - I was in HD Manchester (Stockport) just 2 weeks ago and no sign of it closing... no sign of any ciustomers either. I always pop down there as they had the best burgers for miles but that got closed down and a new one set up run by a scooter fanatic :blast

nice burgers though.

The main HD window display had a etching range of womans HD clothing in which I think explains the demise........

Main dealers survive on high disposable income fools buying new at top dollar then paying them for service and bolt on bits, plus 'lifestyle' clothing :ymca

Shame though, it'll mean less spotless, low mileage, second hand bikes for us to buy
