Hi didn't know where to put this, so as it is in regard to a Yamaha here goes:

Is it possible to fit a tyre size 120/80 18 on a bike which usually takes a 120/70 18.

Probably a silly question to mechanical types but hey.

as the 120/80 is a slightly bigger diameter, i would have thought it depends on the bike and the clearance between tyre and swing arm, but...probably.

Great thanks.
Wifes got a TDM900 and we do a little light green laning when it's dry but she's on road tyres and I've been looking for a tourance type for her for ages, now Avon Distanzia are correct for rear and ok for front so she'll feel more confidant.

Many years ago

When myself and most of my friends motocrossed, one of them came in with this very strange Trelleborg motocross rear tyre.
It had very hard sidewalls, and a taller profile. It took us over 3 hours to get onto the rim.
We did so, eventually, blew it up, and went to install the wheel.
It fouled the front of the swinging arm!

So much for great ideas. another 3 hours getting it off again.

Anyone had any experience of this tyre on the front? They claim to be front and rear.

Mainly for road use - not fast except the odd motor-way dash - but dry trail riding use needed.

Many thanks
