I recenlty rode a Kawasaki Z1000SX. The engine is superb, I just didn't get on with the riding position. The dealer mentioned he had heard that this was in the pipeline.

As with the 650cc version, it's pig ugly but that never put me off the R1150GS :)

I really like the 650 Versys. I had the ER6 which is the same engine and it's a cracker, I just wanted something that could cruise at motorway speeds a bit better and got a GS. A 1000cc Versys could be very good.

Two teeth less on the rear sprocket was just the ticket on my Versys. :thumb2

I'm not sure about a big Versys having an inline four motor. Part of the appeal of the V is its light punchy parallel twin engine, so maybe a 900 twin would be more in keeping with the Versys fun factor.

A 900 twin might be desirable but Kawasaki don't have an engine on the shelf to do the job, as the VN900 engine is a slug - they would either have to design one or buy in someone else's motor. This goes against their current philosophy of modular design, which has worked so well for Triumph over the last few decades. By making a Z1000/Versys hybrid Kawasaki should be able to keep the price down to something relatively sensibly rather than the stupid prices Yamaha & Ducati want for their ADV offerings. If they can get near £9000 then I'll be interested.
