Optimate connection for 2010 990 Advent

Buy the correct optimate lead for you model, if they do one! Google is your friend!
Mine did but, I couldn't be arsed buying one (read, impatient) so used a spare 3/4 socket plug that I had in the garage and chopped the plastic bit off the end of the optimate lead, and wired/soldered it onto the 3/4 size plug
Never had a problem, just plug it into the socket and away yer go.
Mines an Optimate3 BTW

I just used the standard Optimate jack plug that comes in the kit on my 950SMR. Attached it to the battery and cable tied the other end to the frame

have ordered a ktm plug for the socket on the dash of the 990 Advent and will rewire an Optimate cable with the white connex on the end to make it fit the optimate charger!!
