Where do all the 'ex-rallye bikes' get sold?

Over the years I have heard of folk buying bikes with 'ex-' whatever 'rally(e) bike' in the description of the machine. Yet when I've tried to look around, I'm not finding much luck discovering where these type of machines are sold......
There's no section in ebay or biketrader, and the likes of here or ktmforum have little or nothing about such machines......
Hmmm, I wonder if mobile.de has anything? :eek

They do come up on Ebay occasionally, but i guess you have to be quick to see one.

I suspect (but don't know ) that there is also probably an 'old pal's network' in operation.......there will probably be some oddball collector with a shedload of dosh somewhere who snaffles a lot of them away, never to be seen again until they snuff it (seen Motomartin's auction thread?)

The rest are probably broken up and bits scavenged from them , only to re-appear as 'so and so's Dakar bike' but with half the bits from the previous year's model and half from the Touratwat catalogue :blast
