Right guys, those running the Remus pipe, do you have the BM panniers and if so do you use the Remus deflector? While enquiring about the can, I was told you need the deflector when using the panniers.

Is it nesessory or can you ride with no additional heat deflectors?

Whats your experience?

Cheers
Paul

Hi

I do not use the deflector. If you notice the part # -- it was designed for the 1150 and the panniers had no heat shield on the 1150.

The Remus can melt a plastic rear # plate though. I had to replace with metal.

Cheers

Quentin

The above is an opinion -- pls don't blame me if you melt your cases!

Heat Deflector

No you dont have to buy the remus heat deflector. I have been running a full remus system on mine for the last 2k miles without any damage (including number plate)

The GS1200 Panniers from BMW now come with a heat shield already fitted so you needn't bother.
