Hi all,

as you may remember my CRF450X got stolen from me this summer and it took me a long time to find a suitable replacement...but here it is:

its a '98 Honda XR400 with just over 4k miles on the clock and i got it back from Scotland yesterday (belonged to a friend of a friend)

she is very clean for her age and runs perfect...

not as quick as the CRF but more suited for the trail riding I do...

a nice little Xmas present to myself!

Merry Christmas to you all.
Thanks
Lars

Nice bike.......!

Anyone like to guess how many barley straw bales are in my stackyard and what the white buildings are in the background?

FP.

may one enquire as to what your theft prevention plans are for this particular bike. I have a Rottweiler you may borrow providing you feed it properly. It likes postmens legs and arms , Oh and coppers, ESPECIALLY if they are wearing a HIVIZ.... Merry Xmas

Mark

Great that you are back out on the trails.

So you coming on the Bakery run?

update: cleaned the XR today and de-stickered it...
looks much better I think

now tomorrow i will go out for a ride to get her dirty again.:D

first ride out was today...total 90mls of Berkshire & Hampshire lanes and green lanes

great fun all day long, although it was very muddy in places

the bikes got nicely filthy...

but once we went up and down the water lanes near Alton (see thread: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216845&highlight=hampshire+water+lane ) the bikes and boots were pretty clean again - just in time to do more muddy lanes...

funniest bit of the day: Martin running out of fuel on his CRF450x. I had plenty of fuel left but how to get it from my tank into his...we did not have a bottle or any other suitable tool...so we search the nearby road edges and found a discarded bag of walker's crisp - with no holes in it! so we gave it a quick clean and transferred the fuel... too funny as cars drove by seeing it filling a bike with cheese & onion crisps!!!;)

The XR did very well...and never missed a beat - although starting when hot was sometimes not that easy...but i always managed to get her going...

Lars great pics:thumb
