Remus Y piece spare bolts?!!

I've just fitted my Remus race can and Y piece, but I've got some bits left over! Just near where the can fixes to the y piece, there are two small brackets ( on the y piece) with bolt holes in them. I also have two spare stainless stl bolts nuts and washers....so what are they for then??? The remus can just fitted to the y piece with the standard bmw clip/bolt......... I'm baffled (no pun intended)

What have I left off??

The pre-2001 GS's had a separate stainless heatshield bolted to these mountings. Later versions have a different clamp with integral heatshield.
