Whats the main difference between these two bikes. Seriously considering upgrading my 800gs to one.

ADV R doesnt have ABS,is taller,more offroad orientated than the standard 990,if you're going to do more dirt than road the Rs the one to get....

Aside from the different paint/graphics, the R version does not have ABS and is taller. Originally the R had a higher power engine that the standard, but now all new bikes have the same higher power engine.

Tooooo late, just bought a new 990, proper chuffed with it, just put a bashplate, rear rack, camel toe, air ram and a higher bog standard vinyl seat on it, and i luv it!!
