Hi Folks,

There has been a call for another Surrey Wombat hunt, but several people have asked me for different dates in November so I'm having a poll.

Whichever Sunday gets the most votes is the date we go out.

This is a popular trail ride with hill climbs, mud, water, chalk, flint tracks and sand. We meet up at Newlands Corner car park near Guildford on the A25 - Dorking Road, take off is at 10:00 so make sure you are there in plenty of time.

Streetmap is HERE

Be there or miss out on a fun day. Look forward to about 60/70 miles of dirt with a stop at a pub half way round for lunch. This is mostly for pogo stick bikes but any hero with a GS is more than welcome.

Please put a posting here if you intend to come along.

Roy.

Yep i'm up for it.

I can do 7th or 28th.

Room in the trailer for one or maybe 2 bikes.

Dave

Up for it if I can cop a lift round from Dartford on a trailer.

Would have to be the 14th or 28th for me or I'll have the kids :)

Edit Just reread your post Dave......could I blag one of your slots please???

I can do 28th!

Looks like Dave (Dark/Blackhorse :D) and I will have to make our own way!

:(

Greg...there's a slim chance I might have a Merc Vito by then......I'll keep you apprised but if I can get it in time, I'll be able to take mine and a couple more meself. :)

I take it that you will all be on road legal bikes, properly taxed, insured and MOT'd. If not please don't go as illegal use is likely to get us all banned in the end

Ps yes we are.....I even swapped out a sexy race exhaust 'cos it was too damn noisy on the DRZ.

:D

Call me a grumpy old man, but why doesn't anyone else know that the word isn't appraised?

Cheers Bill! Let me know.

Doh!

You obviously haven't read previous posts on this subject.

You are right I haven't, but I did see lots of chat about requirment for getting trailer transport to this event. I just thought that smelled a bit thats all. I see bloody loads of illegals using the green lanes around Box hill and normally theres a transit or a trailer waiting for them somewhere.

It doesn't hurt to have it repeated for the sake of newbioes who may not be part of the click here. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_2_205.gif' alt='Soapbox' border=0></a>

Nah, the only reason some of use trailers to take bikes to Green Lanes is that they are to fecking uncomfortable to ride!

On new knobblies and with a stock saddle, 30 miles is about the limit on my DR-Z!

On regular road tyres it is, however, my everyday mount.

:moped:

Greg

This is most definitely NOT a click ( I think you meant clique). As you are a newbie I'll clarify why we were referring to trailers. It's because most of the off-roaders who meet up at the Newlands road car park have had to travel over fifty miles at the very least, to get to the meeting.

Now as we usually do NOT go out on our GS'S, we use what is commonly referred to on this board as "pogo sticks" - these are mostly japanese purpose built much lighter bikes. Now, have you EVER ridden a "pogo stick" on tarmac - for fifty miles or more? It aint pleasant. So, we use this board to offer lifts by those who have trailers to help each other out. You don't have to part of any "clique" the offer applies just the same for you or anyone else on this board.

I hope this helps you understand what we try (legally) to achieve.:beerjug:

Explaination appreciated.

Should anyone from the B'Stoke area who wants to get to one of these in the future need the use of a trailer I have one that will take three pogo sticks or two GS's.

Kind offer Mr Unsure.

Does this mean you're coming along on whichever day this next run is??? (looking like the 28th?)

Be good to meet you.

:)
