Winters a bad time, its impossible to keep the bike proper clean.

Anyway, re the spokes, tried the usual with muck-off & s-doc but the grimey layers of crud wont come off. Its literally caked on.

Any suggestions to break it down to get the spokes glaiming again ?

( will the apply ACF50 after them i get them to almost normality ).

Reason I ask, i didnt have spkened rims before so i dont want to use something that witll tarnish them.

Tks

Your pal must have had too much time on his hands:D

You're dead right there. :thumb

He never rides in the winter and spends most of the time stripping and cleaning his bike. Come to think of it he doesn't ride it much in the summer either! :blast I don't really know why he's got it. :nenau

Sounds laborious but i may just give it a shot

There's some stuff called Luster Lace, I think it is, ISTR seeing it mentioned on ADVrider a while back. Impregnated cloth strips you wrap around the spokes to polish them. Might be worth a google.

It's normal patina. Wear it with pride and don't be so precious about the bike looking shiny

i use one of those massive car wheel brushes
spray with SDot 100 first & leave for half an hour
then spin the wheel while brushing at the same time
mine come up a treat :thumb2
