Are OS mapping bundles tied to a single unit?

I have full UK OS on my Oregon - if I swap for a new Montana can I still use the same mapping card?

I think so, the genuine Garmin Discoverer micro-sd card I got has worked in the several Montana units I had from day one.

I also think you can move the preloaded SD cards around different units.

OS maps

The maps can be unlocked either for unit or for the card.

When you have a locked Garmin map, you need to get the unlock code that is generated based on the ID of your unit, or in some other cases as the OS maps on the ID of the SD card. In the first case the maps will for only on particular unit, in the later case, they will work only while on the original SD card - it won't work if you just "backup" the content on another SD card or copy it to the unit.
