Hi guys and girls, nice to be back well I sold my 1200 and I have returned to my favourite 1150

Iv had my first GSA ever bought it a few days ago

I debated the 1200/1150 and am always glad to see another fellow GSer ensure that i did indeed make the right choice

It is an amazing machine and I am effing loving it!!!!

Cheers J

My bike history

Hiya fellas
I have owned two 1150's now and one 1200 I've also owned from the beginning
DT125 (passed my test on this one)
GS550E Suzuki ( good money maker )
Z750 Kawasaki ( good bike but rotted right in front of my eyes lol)
XS850 customised (originally a USA import)
KLR650 ( taxman paid for this, cheers tax man)
TDM 850 ( just what I could afford)
then I grew up and started buying proper bikes lol
R100RT ( older pre 85 twin shock one)
R80RT ( good old 1986 one )
TRIUMPH TIGER 885 ( good bike bought S/H )
TRIUMPH TIGER 955i ( brought brand new and the worst bike I've ever owned)
BMW R1150 GS ( best ever bike)
BMW R1200 GS ( too plasticky felt like a Japanese copy of a BMW)
my current only just bought BMW R1150 GS
I returned to the 1150 as ( this is just my personal opinion ) as I feel BMW have gone just one step too far a bit like land rover did with the freelander
R100 GS = series 3 land rover
R1100 and R1150 GS = defender
R1200 GS = freelander now there's nothing actually wrong with the freelander design per say but, it doesn't have the " land rover feel"
The R1200 GS is the same, I owned one for 3 yrs and my opinion is there is nothing wrong with the design but it never felt like a "true BMW"
I am chuffed to be returning to what I feel was BMW's best ever balance of tech and engineering " a true BM"
Ha ha ha from what I remember of the Gser forums there was no shortage of controversy and opinions so over to you.......be gentle with me lol
