I was looking at an 883 Sportster, fairly new model, whilst having an Mot today.

And I have to say, that for the first time, I could not see a single bad thing about it.

It really looked a well screwed together motorcycle, electrics, finish, castings, brakes, fasteners etc - it even had Harley Davidson written/molded on the tyres !

I have to say, if I was in the market for something like this I would have one over a Bonnie/W800/V7 or even my girlfriends VT750 !

Not sure what spanners you use on one of these nowadays though :nenau

Sportsters really are well put together IMO. Yes the 883 is a little under powered but it runs well, no surging etc. And whenever one decides, it's a common straight forward operation to bump it to 1200, while your insurance rate remains based on 883. My biggest gripe with them, Harley's in general, is their insistence on fitting them with limited travel suspension just to have ultra low seats.
