If in doubt, or if lacking in common sense, cover it.........
Then again, if you really need to ask, you deserve bleeding nipples

Is that corrugated asbestos on your garage ceiling?

I'd wrap gaffa tape around it and then carefully seal the whole lot with silicone sealant to be on the safe side
But seriously, just put a rubber bleed nipple cap on and stop fretting. What's the chance of you ever getting it wet or dirty anyway?
