Confusing problem ews

Confusing problem.

I have a 2006 GSA, and I started to get the ews coming up on the computer and it would not start. After reinserting the key a few times, and pressing the starter before the computer finishes it check it would start.
I have now replaced the ring antenna (that’s a whole different story) and at first everything seemed OK, but now it has started to show ews again and the only way round it is to stand the bike upright (side stand can be left down or up, no difference) and then it starts.
Also my garmin cradle has stopped charging the unit, but the gps will, when fitted, start up then die as I am going along ?
I have just replaced the battery with a gel battery.
Any one got any ideas.




Let the idle banter start.

Put it on its centre stand and put the steering lock on. Walk away from the bike with all the keys. The only time the bike is not 'looking' for the key is when the steering lock is on. This shuts down the ring antenna and seems to reset the system. Make sure your spare key is no where near the bike when you try to start.
