I was in a London scooter shop the other day, in the back there were three pretty identical machines that the owner said were Moto Guzzi's. I thought nothing of it at the time but having tried and failed to find a similar bike via Google I thought I'd ask on here; unfortunately I didn't take a pic but am intrigued enough now to go back for one
They looked like a 40/50's design, single cylinder 2-stroke with a slightly upwardly inclined cylinder and the fins ran up the cylinder and not around it. Between the swing arm and back of the engine were two coil springs side by side but laid flat. All three had a sprung saddle and one had two; on the tank of each was a pressed metal rack.
Any Guzzi fans care to hazard a guess before I go back ?
ps - It wasn't a bacon slicer.
