Hi all,following on from another thread I was reading,it would appear that there is some demand for a bit of tuition to service and maintain bikes.
So here is what I propose.
I would like to host a Saturday morning service workshop.the aim would be that after the workshop participants will have the confidence to tackle basic servicing at home.
The workshop will focus on the r1200gs ,

Content will include ;
Daily/weekly checks
Workshop safety
Use of tools
Oil/filter change
Gearbox oil change
Fuel tank removal
Air filters
Spark plugs
Rocker end float /valve clearance checks/adjustments
Servicing /checking the final drive
Driveshaft removal/checks
Alternator belt check/change
Brake pads/calipers
Safety checks
Hints and tips
Dates 9TH AUGUST,6TH SEPTEMBER

Wow, sounds brill, this is just the kind of advice I need so Id love to attend.

What dates you thinking? I work shifts so don't get every Saturday off, but id happily book the day off work if needed.:thumb2

Very generous of you,that,s a great idea. Anything that can instil a bit of confidence has to be good. Just knowing there is someone who knows what they are doing if starts to go wrong , makes a big difference.

Rethink mikeyboy or have a poll

Bugger - I need an idiots guide to the 1150

Yea, with you on that. Can't be arsed to learn the hard way like I've done in the past. C'mon mikeyboy, fook the 1200 lot, they don't need shit like this. ( bacon butties sounds just fine too)

Go along to the session about the 1200 and whatever tool he shows you to use, use a hammer instead and ignore anything about electrics. :beerjug:

Could be very tempted to pop along to this even though it's a couple of hours ride away. Is it a necessity to be on a 1200 or are you using one bike to demonstrate on?

i was going to use my 1200 for demonstration purposes,my reasons for this are;
i can prepare prior to the session to save time,and to concentrate on the jobs that need more time.
i dont want to service the bike but to demonstrate methods and techniques etc.
no one will be catching the train home if something gets broken:blast

Ide be interested in this as well,date dependant:thumb2
