Clock not staying on......(not fuse no:3!!)

I know this subject has been covered before (I've spent a few hours reading all the searched threads on this subject) but I'm going to ask if anybody has an idea where to look to stop my clock going out when ignition is switched off.

What happens is:
Clock is ok when ignition on (engine running or not).
Clock goes off when ignition turned off, no display.
Clock comes on when ignition turned back on, requires reset.

It is definately not a fuse.
The power socket works all the time
It exhibits the above faults even if the engine is not started.
The battery does not require charging or changing.

All the previous threads suggest either the fuse or the battery, it is definately not either of these so does anybody out there have another suggestion????

Thanks.

Gavin. I have exactly the same problem as you with regards to the clock. This is now the second time it has happedned, first was when bike was only a couple of months old. Took it to CW Motorcycles who fixed it under warranty. They said it was the feed wire (which I believe isn't fused) which powers the clock when the ignition is off. It had chaffed and corroded and so was replaced. I guess this is what has happened again although it is now long out of warranty. Does anyone know which wire this is? colour etc, can't seem to see it on any electrical diagrams.
