There is another Hooton Park Open Day on Easter Monday.

Hooton Park is a former aerodrome of great historical significance.
There are still three World War One vintage hangars in existance, which are under a preservation order. They are the only group of such hangars in existance still with their auxiliary buidings intact.
The aerodrome saw action through World War Two,and was home to 610 (County of Chester) Squadron.
Most of the original site is home to the Vauxhall car factory, but some of the old runway is visible.

The Open Day will provide access to the hangars and buildings, where you can see a collection of aero engines, aircraft cockpits,
aviation artifacts,a couple of vintage aircraft, plus military vehicles and some display stalls.
The BMF will have a marquee there again, and I`ll be there all day.
I`m easy to spot, look out for the pink plaster cast...

Hooton Park is reached via Junction 6 of the M53,signed for
'Vauxhall Cars' and 'Eastham Oil Terminal' then follow the signs.

Gates open at 10 am

Maybe see you there !!

Yes,yes,I`m a little `otter than Tikka,ho ho.

Sorry Bomber,no autojumble.

It`s an Open Day,held as part of the agreement made when they gained Lottery Heritage Fund financial support.
