I've been with BMW insurance for the last 9 yrs. no claims, no convictions, bike garaged, house in the sticks, last years premium for GS LC £197. Just received renewal notice, for my XR £599.17. What the xxxx. Rang them and said I can get the same online with Devitts for £220. We don't use Devitts, me - so why has the email got Devitts customer care as a heading? Don't know was the reply.

Don't sweat it - it's not personal. They are all the same, looking for customer "inertia" on renewal. Just get the competitive quotes and show them - they'll either match or you go with the competition (as long as the underwriter's policy is Defaqto 5* rated).

A little bit of work on your part can save you a shedload. I've got for £100, including legal, NCB protection, Class 1 business............
