Can anyone recommend a CD-R as mine has died @ 14m old it was a Ricoh, had a Creative before that but was shite.
The Ricoh did not get much use so won't buy the same.

e buyer had a philips cd-r/rw sans software for £22 a few days ago. i'm going to buy one for a pc i'm building for a mate if they are still available when he comes accross with some money.

personally i rate plextor units. older/slower 16x writers from them can be had a bit cheaper than latest stuff. try here

or here for other makes.

Try Lite_on according to various CD replication sites is the dog's bolloxs. It will cope with writing various odd bit patterns beloved of software protection people!
