Well something to go the 1.8 miles to my local paper shop on a Sunday morning :thumb
needs an oily rag and a dvla registration. Circa 1968, somehow I don't think Suzi is going to look right on it :augie
A cheap ebay find in Abergavenny :thumb2

300 plus is a good price for these tiddlers. Chancers at Stafford in a couple of weeks time will be after 700. Lots of stories data on the net about these little bikes, enjoy.

I nearly bought a nsu quickly at 350, (a Bin price) BUT the velosolex looked more fun
as it's up and running.
All I shall do is give it a good clean, service it and dvla registration to sort. (55 fees)
then it's just a bit of tax free fun.
I've got the vfr if I feel the need for speed

These people were a great help when I bought a Raleigh RM6 Runabout a couple of years ago. The registration had dropped out of the system and they were able to advise me how to go about getting the original plate back. Will this be the first registration in the UK for yours ?

It's coming on............. slowly
finally sorted the tick over , it's a strange machine that runs flat out at 3800rpm all the time and you pull the front brake in to slow the bike enough for the centfugal clutch to drop out to 1250rpm.Or you eat thru the front tyre on the friction roller....:blast

Two wheels good

Have a look at the Rock n Solex weekend on a college campus in Rennes every May.
Live music by night, Solex racing by day. Endurance races, grand prix, sprint start, racing leathers and comedy costumes. It's a hoot - and a lot of the racing is actually very exciting.

Lots of videos online. For example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jN4KhjEPLdc
Final race: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3moIrNz11sw
Endurance : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM0Z3RQrQoE

Not that I'm suggesting you race your lovely machine.

Mine struggles to pull my 15st as I live in a very hilly wales!
Funny as fook to ride but looks like I shall need a geared machine for my 1.8 miles to the paper shop:blast
I'm going to retain the patina of this machine so it's going to be "oily rag"

Yes they are to stop you damaging the petrol tank (right) or the ignition/ flywheel side (left) if it falls over
the two litre can is your spare petrol ( petroil ) as the bike tank only holds 500cc of fuel:thumb

The can is fixed to the bike?

Yes on a spring bracket, designed that way, you pull the spring clip to release the BP can
French do have some strange ideas

The can is a T shaped that bolts onto the wheel spindle

Well I've had a bit of fun with the quick oily rag and decided that 0.4bhp is not enough for 1 in 4 hills and my 15st. Damn near killed myself with LPA...:blast. So I need to swap this french beast for a geared, slightly more powerful moped of similar age. Shame as this velosolex is great fun:rolleyes:
So I'll put it back on ebay after xmashttp://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t557/magwa56/Mobile%20Uploads/20161025_112332_zpsfjftxe1a.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/magwa56/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20161025_112332_zpsfjftxe1a.jpg.html)http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t557/magwa56/Mobile%20Uploads/14947530_1455867587774226_694776016544474425_n_zps flnohcbs.jpg (http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/magwa56/media/Mobile%20Uploads/14947530_1455867587774226_694776016544474425_n_zps flnohcbs.jpg.html)

500cc in the bike
2000cc in the can
equals .....dunno I've not ridden it as such yet but I guess more than 100miles
I don't think the GSA needs to worry
