I have just had a datatool 3 fitted to my GS by Cannons BMW.

The alarm does "turn on" after 30 seconds, but it isnt in touch sensor mode, (i can move the bike without the alarm going off)

Is this right?

Do you have to arm the sensor manualy each time
OR
Have i got to set it up for this?

Thanks

The Datatool 3 on my GS arms after 30 seconds including the motion sensor, same as the Datatool Veto that was on my previous Honda.

The only way it'll NOT arm itself in anti-tamper mode is if the garage have wired it up to do so. You need to get it back to them ASAP - they'll have just earthed out the wrong wire.

cheers for that,

i knew it wer'nt right.

:(

The installer has probably earthed the yellow wire to the frame - if so just de-earth and wrap a bit of tape over the end of the wire. I personally prefer this setup as it avoids the nudger being set off on ferries, by my grandson playing in the garage etc etc. To arm/disarm the nudge mode I just have to press the oval button once the system has armed itself (30secs after turning the ignition off) If nudge is armed the red light will flash every second as opposed to every two
