Couple of things noticed on my journey home this evening, my setup is Nav VI; BMW Communication System (in GS helmet); iPhone7
1. Voice control doesnt work (with iphone) - when you hit the option on the Nav, it does prime the iPhone but no voice command is making it through and the Nav tells you that it doesnt think its compatible or 'you havent added any voice tags on your phone'.
2. Streaming music from your iPhone. Seems to take an age to 'copy files from your phone to the nav' - hadnt finished in an hour. Even though volume turned up on Nav, you need to turn volume up on your iphone also. Seems to use the music app on your phone (when I selected the music source - I choice iphone/iPad option rather than 'bluetooth'). It then froze after a phone call, with the display showing previous song, but I was able to move to next track - just the screen didnt change. Then it rebooted !
3. Screen is excellent. Nice and bright and appear to be good deep colours - just seemed nicer (although its probably my brain screaming 'PLEASE be nicer for all this money');
4. Havent noticed the very shiny screen being a problem....but not very sunny on way home. I have noticed that it'll be a finger print magnet. Not an issue whilst riding (gloves) but once off the bike and handling etc. It'll also be a scratch magnet I suspect as there is no lip around the edge - screen is flush, so face down will have scratch risk (I doubt its a strong screen like an iphone or apple watch for example);
Tomorrow I'll see if I can use any other music source, ie rather than playing from the Nav (paired to my phone), I'll try and send from the phone from, say, Amazon music etc, audiobook app etc.
Overall - pleased but the cost to change was relatively low for me from my Nav V......not sure I'd be as happy paying £675..
