Wiring a aux socket plug?

got a barewire garmin cradle for my quest today, have got a plug in the post so i can fit it to the aux socket..... stoopid question .... am I crrect in presuming that the pointy bit is + and the sidewall is -?

Yes pointy bit is +, though I think you are better wiring in from the battery with an inline fuse.

Thanks prag, never had a prob running the GPS V from the Aux socket, and given the large sized contacts on the garmin powered cradle, I'd rather not run it direct from the battery.......
