Check out the dig the dirt video. I want one so much it hurts - got to be 3rd gear wheelies:)

Not much point having one unless your going to race it, even then why buy it when theres so many other bikes that can race on dirt for a lot less money?

But Kevin, it's pretty exclusive and very different..................for me it gets back to the Pre-GS......... ISDT (ISDE) theme of the late late 70's, with a reasonably lightweight boxer racer.

Positively svelte compared to the lardy Dakar racers

A hundred smaller capacity competition bikes on a tight woods course would be quicker.....................but for Open Class racing in the Desert sprint events, like Baja 1000.............it's going to be a flyer
Previously the Honda XR650R was the fastest on these type of events, with about 55-60hp as stock.

I can see your point and agree that it looks like tool for desert sprints Johnny.

But whats the point of buying one if you don't race?

It's a bit specialised :)

Because it'll be a complete hooligan machine on the road - stick some 17" wheels on it and you're larfing:) Ouch, it hurts so much :(

If you have to ask why someone would want one - then you're obviously on the wrong forum.

Do you think there will be any at the Weston Super Mare beach race this year? I'd make a point of going if there were.

I think if BMW found anyone who had turned an HP2 into a supermotard, they'd send a hitman to get you :D

I will be willing to risk it.....;)

I understand wanting one, I questioned the point of having one.

I'd like a Humvee but theres no point in having one.

Does anyone understand what I'm trying to say?

Only if we split the cost and take turns in racing it :D
