View Full Version : Please recommend a wheel builder

I am thinking of replacing a 19" rim with a 21" alternative.

Please could anyone recommend a company that could supply the new rim and spokes, then build them onto my existing hub?

This is not a tricky Bmw tubeless wheel - it's a traditional design so no need for a specialist

I am in the border of Surrey, Berks and Hampshire, although the builder need not be local.

Anyone had any experiences?

I've used Hagon before and was very happy with the result.

A lot of people use Dave Norris in Hillingdon.

Iíve used him twice on T160 & T140 wheels. Excellent job.

Thanks everyone for the input. Some of those appeal because I know they are national, reputable businesses.

Others appeal because they're closer to where I live!

I did have dealings with Hagon once - it was when a rock displaced my rear caliper and I smashed some 1150 spokes (not too many companies will work on those tubeless GS rims). In the end I sourced a second hand wheel, but up until that point they had been really helpful and great to deal with.

I'll make a choice, then when the job is complete I will report back in case it's useful to anyone else.

Thanks all :thumb

Thanks Bob.

Yep, a wheel builder who can deal with tubeless GS rims will have no problem with standard wheels.

Cheers,

Paul
