Anybody from the area going ? Specifically sailing from Holyhead.

Thinking of going on the Friday and getting an early morning crossing. The ride down to Lahinch is quite straightforward....A roads most of the way.

Went last year with Whatton , Steve Chip and met a few others on ferry then hooked up with pthagonal in Dublin before heading down mid afternoon. The riding on the saturday was good and the evening was a great laugh! Its on a nice campsite overlooking a small golf course and the sea. The campsite has a decent bar / function room so no probs if the weather is inclement.

Not booked the ferry yet but seriously considering taking Friday off and heading out for the weekend.

Anybody up for it?

Ian

Friday morning...

Ian,

Stenna from Holy Head, Friday 9 ish?
Return Mon am.

Me and SWMBO £67.00.
I booked on the phone, with the £10.00 surcharge it was still almost half of the best web price.

The nice lady told me to say v520.;)

See you in Holyhead.

Steve

Thanks Steve

In a Bolton accent repeat after me "Booked it, packed it, fooked off"

Steve we shall see you on deck at 08.55.

Steve

Very nice lady! It took a while for her to remember what a v520 was but the earth seemed to move very sweetly as soon as she had fully grasped my meaning. ;)

Oh Neptune, Neptune, must I still

Be here detained against my will

Is this your gesture when I'm come

O'er mountains steep, o'er dusty plains

Half choked with dust, have drowned with rains

Only your godship to implore

To let me kiss another shore

A boon so small, but I may weep

While you're like Baal, fast asleep.

Lo, here I sit at Holy Head

With muddy ale and mouldy bread,

I'm fastened both by wind and tide,

I see the ships at anchor ride.

All Christian vittals stink of fish,

I'm where my enemies would wish,

Convict of lies is every sign,

The Inn has not one drop of wine.

The Captain swears the sea too rough,

(he has not passengers enough).

And thus the Dean is forced to stay

Till others come to help the pay.

How did he do that?

Must have quoted some sweet sounding poetry to the lady on the phone..........i paid same as you Steve £67 but opted to pay the £5 cancellation insurance. Had a few issues with ferry trips recently so thought it was worth the extra!!!

Make mine a full english please Tom;)

PS Steve I think you had better check your booking confirmation as mine and Toms most certainly state motorcycle and I seem to remember you saying something about being booked to take a car. Sounds like you may have to bring the tin box!!!???:D

Doh........ I forgot we weren't going alone this time. Better not forget to put her on the back before riding away early in the a.m. Would hate to come back 3 days later to find her still standing outside the house , locked out, still wearing her leathers and helmet!!!
