Whats the ideal way to do it ?
Standing on the pegs or sitting on the seat with legs splayed..

I did Moreton ford today in the seated position with legs splayed
with the soles of my boots acting like hydrofoils :D
sorry no pics of me doing it, though i did have an audience of several
ramblers who actually applauded when i'd reached the other side :p

I don't think there's any set method that you must abide to.

I find that if the ford is fairly deep or rough, then I'll stand up, but if it's shallow/smooth, then sitting is just fine. As long as you're comfortable, then you should be ok.

...though being ramblers, they'd probably have preferred it if you'd fallen off.
