Hey,

Not bought myself a BMW yet but definately soon.

Saw the HP2 at the NEC and fell in love then saw the version in MCN and really really want one but skint. Was wondering if buying a damage repairable either HP2 or 1200gs was an affordable option? There was a 1200gs on ebay not so long ago but i take it parts will be pricey?? oh and is white a standard colour scheme??

Many thanks

C

Welcome, 'C'... :thumb

As with any damaged repairable,be careful that you don`t end up spending more overall than an undamaged bike might cost....
List all damage that needs correcting, and ask the likes of Motorworks or motorbins about parts prices....also see if they are available via this site.
Sometimes a 'written off' bike can be sorted for a few hundred pounds if you fix it yourself....my 1100 is an example...written off, salvage bought back for £1200 and back on the road for £500.
Obviously HP or 1200s would be a bit more costly to do.

Is white a standard option for what ???

Hi C and welcome.

Whereabouts are you in Enn Brrua ?
Loads of Gsers across in Fife, they have the quantity but you have to come further north to get the quality. :eyebrow

In the Shadow of the Bing

Hi Cr13

I'm just up the road in Livingston.

Maybe c u around :thumb

Didn`t realise that there was a BMW specialist in edinburgh thought glasgow was the closest though i read they are opening a branch in dalkeith.

Question to Dutchman, roughly how expensive to get a bike made white?

To Shapeshifter i actually got a rebate on my insurance as they said i haad moved to one of the lowest areas for motorcycle crime ( i find hard to believe as every weekend there`s bikes galore up bing and atleast 70% are road bikes converted)

To Yogi - usually running about on red KTM LC4 supermoto or red zx6r but seldom park them anywhere for long espec not in almonvale shopping centre.

To be truthful not really ever seen many GS`s out and about but have always loved their ugly one eye squinting looks ;)

Hi cr13.....you really need to visit us or our website....then you'd see (a) we're not a BMW specialist and (b) the prices for painting......

http://www.motorradconcepts.com/custompaint.htm

There you will see that the beak, tank top panel and both side panels cost £249.95 inc VAT to paint any single colour of your choice.

If you look here:

http://www.motorradconcepts.com/customerbikes.htm

You'll see some examples of our work........

Cheers

Dutch
