Reliving bike trips whilst sat at my desk....
As the title suggest, I am interested in any nice villages with B&Bs on the Pembrokeshire coast, for a little tete-a-tete with the young lady, mid-february :eyebrow.

So no pressure: My chances of having an excellent weekend as opposed to just a great one depends entirely on you lot. Don't let me down......please, don't let me down :p

Was based at RAF Brawdy for four years (near St Davids) in the 1980's loved the area but always went to cardigan bay, New quay or Aberaeron for romantic assignations :thumb

Newgale.... Druidstone....Nolton Haven....Solva....Broad Haven....Little Haven...

Take your pick:) there all fantastic. In between Broad Haven and little Haven is the haven fort hotel which is an old building and quite interesting history.

In Druidstone is a hotel where I used to drink years ago with the RAF fighter pilots ( a wild bunch and perfect drinking partners for an outlaw motorcycle club) which is still a nice hideaway and very quiet and discrete.

I could go on all day :) I was born down in Pembrokeshire and know the roads down there backwards.

Cheers

Beutiful part of the country. I once had a honeymoon there in September, Lovely coastal paths I remember ;)

Solva. It's a pretty little harbour in a valley with a nice pub and great walks along the Coastal Path.

If you want something bigger, then look at St. Davids. Some nice romantic eating places, more pubs and some great walks overlooking Ramsey Island. :thumb

BTW, we insist on a full report with pictures!!! :D

Loose wimmin .... in Aberaeron? Well there weren't any when I was looking. :D

Tenby & Saundersfoot are well known but IMHO too commercialised. Solva (between Haverfordwest and St Davids) is one of the prettiest villages in the country. Another smart and often overlooked village is Lower Fishguard where they filmed "Under Milk Wood" with Richard Burton etc, literally just round the corner from the better know but less impressive Fishguard. Cenarth (between Newcastle Emlyn and Cardigan) is pretty and on the Pembrokeshire / Cardiganshire border.

A good result is virtually guaranteed. ;)

Lovely area, nevertheless.

hallo,
i work in pembs and if you want a nice quiet area, with lovely views and walks to go upon i have to agree that st davids and solva are beautiful, and i can recommend the printing house b&b in solva that we use to put our customers in great food too and there are a few pubs accross the road if you want to do something in the evenings.....
just a suggestion

have a great time where ever you choose to go

Any historical sites or buildings you can recommend in the area or along the route back to London would be great too. Judging by your signature and username, you're the person to ask... :thumb

Try the Sloop Inn in Porthgain.
Lovely location and very reasonable food with good beer. We always make for it when we are in St David's.
Get the weather right and it is difficult to beat.

On the road back, Dylan Thomas' boat house in Laugharne (turn right off A48 near St Clears) has a wonderful location and is a well spent hour if you 'ave a littrary bent.

I used to live in that neck of the woods as well. I would recommend Solva or Little Haven. St. Davids is quite touristy now, although it would be pretty damn quiet at the moment.

You could also try Dale.

Agreed however dale at the moment would be very very quiet (I used to run the watersports school there).

Howerver the walks around St Anns head are really nice, or head out towards Marloes for some nice beaches and the views from the Deer Park over towards Skomer and Skokholm Islands.

Not sure if the boats are running to, and round the islands yet proably too early.
