Dear source of all knowledge ;)
Best buddy and I are going camping (in a very non- Brokeback way) by GSAs late June. We are going South via Route Napolean to Nice and back North via Route des Haut Alpes to Morzine.
The former I beleive will be OK as I have done it in May and it is relatively low. (The Gorges du Verdon are fabulous riding).
I would welcome advice re the return trip. Presently Val D'Isere is enjoying an extended ski season and the snow was well deep not a few weeks ago!
The web site www.bison-fute.equipement.gouv.fr will tell me if the road is open, but there is open and there is open!

Those who have gone before - I would welcome your thoughts.

hope I don't need 'em!

cheers

Late June 2003 and 2005 were both ridiculously hot with little snow left.

We didn't go that way in 2004 but the Petit Saint Bernard was open, albeit with some high banks of snow either side of the road.

I would expect the passes to be open by then but worth checking on the net a few days before you leave.

HTH

Adam :)
