Send-a-cow - Livestock for Life

Dear fellow GSer,

Send a cow is a charity which sends livestock to some of the poorest areas in Africa, such that the recipient can attain a level of self-sufficiency. They send cows, goats, pigs, chickens and other things.

My eldest son William (aged 15) had decided to do a 100 mile cycle ride in order to raise funds for this cause.

Should any of you feel moved to sponsor him at all, you can do so online by the following link: http://www.justgiving.com/williamblunt

Should any of you want a bit more information about the charity, follow this link: http://www.sendacow.org.uk/

Thanks for reading this !

Regards

Oxfam UNwrapped

Hi - I just thought I would say to you to look at the different places that do this sort of scheme as some are cheaper (in terms of how much their livestock gifts are) which means you money can go further. Just a thought as I know there has been some contraversy re this with schools buying livestock - but paying over the odds.
Oxfam UNwrapped is one of them. There you can buy a calf for £32. The calf grows up and then if it has a claf itself --- that calf can be given to another person in need. THe cows at "buy a cow are £750 -- fully grown, of course. Its something to think about anyway. Just a comment - nothing more :thumb . THey all do wonderful work. I have bought several calves. My name will say why. :clap
