Is there anyone from Wales leaving for the Hogroast on Friday morning ie 7th July?

I'm pretty flexible about times and roads (but I don't see the point in taking the M4 when we've got all day) but it would be more fun to go up together, rather than individually.

Hiya Taff, myself and Bigbird are both going, I'll be leaving from Gilwern and Bb from Newport we haven't made any arrangements as to times so far, but if you stay at Dorians Thu/Fri night we'll make up a posse with you sometime on the Friday morning.

Bigbird hates M-ways as do I so any route will do as long as we get there.

Send your landline/mobile to [email protected] and I'll reply.

Sounds like a plan to me, I would have been going down past Gilwern and Abergavenny anyway. :thumb

How the heck do you know Dorian? :eek

I was at Abertillery when he started as a sprog and occasionally worked split shifts with him, when I was 2-10 he was 10-6 and quite often to provide cover someone from the 10-6 would have to drop back if the 2-10 was short and sometimes the reverse.

Ask him about the time he was a reserve for a welsh services boxing team that had a tournament versus a Russian Police Team, one of the luckiest escapes of his life!
Now however he's bone idle sat on his arse in a patrol car all shift and I say that from doing the same myself for 6years.

I don't mind joining up with you lot somewhere on the way there. Let me know what route you intend to take.
I suppose you'll be on the slower 1200 :dabone

Friday morning is looking good aside from the fact that Bigbird thinks 9am is the middle of the night.

Pretty certain that Taff has an 1150 and ditto for Bb and I so we should make good time.

Normally he's lightening fast to tell us all about his exploits, but he's kept that one very quiet. :D :D

Really early starts are fine by me, but the only thing we need to bear in mind is that we don't need to get to Andover too early. As a guide, last year Dennis and I left Carmarthen at 9.00am and arrived at a sensible time in Andover.

I am on one of the faster 1150s :D but will have my boy as a pillion.

We could always do a via route to Andover say Newcastle :D I thought you had a 1200 now (ex Blue & White 1150) or am I mistaken?

Let me know.I'mgame for a jolly

There'll be a few of us landing at Holyhead about 1230ish, can anyone give pointers to a quick but not boring route down?

TIA

I think your best way is to make your way south on the A470 its a great road untill you get close to Cardiff but it will take you on to the M4 with no hassles

:D Brilliant, but whats the odds on Jinkxy forgetting his sleeping bag again?

I'll have a look on Mapsource tomorrow.

As we all have to get over the Severn somehow what about a meet at either the old Aust or Magor services, Bigbird and I are flexible as to times as we're not that far from either one, if someone would like to suggest a time we'll fall in, Taff let me know when your going to be passing by and I'll tag along.

slimbo what time are you leaving?

if it is after 9am (have to get kids to school first) could me an jase tag along as i have no idea wher i am going

thank you
