Just started playing with Mapsource as I'm completely new to Garmin.

First things first, see if there are any updates.

Used the feature in Mapsource to check.

New version available will take 1 hour 73 minutes to download on a 56k modem. . . . . .

Shouldn't that therefore be 2 hours and 13 minutes .. . .. .??

Is Garmin always this confused?

I've got a Quest 2 and my gosh it seems slow. I've had a TomTom Go in the car for about 2 years, and that goes like grease lightening in comparison to the quest. Are they "all like that" or am I doing something wrong.

They are 'mericuns. Use strange old units .. talk to 'em of gallons and you'll get confused... One hour of an 'mericun sit comedy takes a lot longer than 60 minutes. Thus a hour hour 'mericun download takes longer than a one hour brit download.

I'm on my second and I think it's awful. After numerous problems with the first Quest 2 I had Garmin replaced it. The new one isn't that much better so I'll be discussing this with Garmin.
