Need some help planning a route from Shipston-on-Stour to Holyhead.

I've attached my intended route so far, but are there some cracking roads I should include.

Leaving home at about 10am and don't need to be in Holyhead until about 6pm, but SWMBO will probably need a stop about every 90 minutes.

Any suggestions or route files greatfully received.

Dan

Looks pretty good to me. The only place where you really have much choice is up in Snowdonia and there you've picked some good roads.

You might want to PM Timolgra, he is the font of all knowledge round there.

A couple of changes to think about.

Try taking in the A4117 over Clee Hill. Stunning view on a clear day.
and if you go further round lake Vyrnwy you can pick up the road over Bwlch y Groes ( pass of the cross) that will take you to Llanuwchlyn and back on your route.
I hope you have a really nice day for your journey.

Used to work in Trawsfynydd - nice route

Head through Evesham and out on the road to J6 of the M5
Cross over and continue on the A449 dual track towards Kidderminster
Take the slip road for Ombersley and at the roundabout go left to Holt. At Holt Heath take the A443 through Martley then turn right onto the B4202 through Clows Top.
At the T junction at Mawley Oak Garage turn left on the A4117 for Cleobury Mortimer.
Continue on the A4117 over Clee Hill to the A49 roundabout at Ludlow.
Turn right to go north on the A49 through Craven Arms.
About a mile out of Craven Arms, turn left onto the A489.
Stay on the A489 to Church Stoke.
Harry Tuffin Supermarket at C.S. is a good refuel stop for bike & rider.
a mile or less after supermarket turn right on A490 all the way to Welshpool
Follow the A490 up through Welshpool High Street and straight over the roundabout.
Stay on the A490 as it dog legs right left over the A495
You run out of A495 at a place called Llanfyllin.
The same road becomes the B4391 going through Llangynog on the way to Bala
You arrive in Bala at a dogleg right left cross roads.
Go across onto the A4212 which runs for 18 miles to a t junction at Trawsfynydd. Turn right onto A470 and follow it. It becomes the A487 but it is the same road.
At Penrhyndeudraeth turn right on the A4085 and follow it though to the T junction with the A498.
Turn right towards Beddgelert. At Beddgelert go over the bridge and follow the road round to the left (it is now the A4085 again)
You come out at Caernarvon on the A487. Head for Bangor
Pick up the A55 over the Menai Strait and follow it to Holyhead
It can be quite exposed and windy on the A55

You can cut and paste bits of this route but the nicest parts I think are from Welshpool through Snowdonia

Enjoy
