I got a text off Vern asking if I`d like to take his bike for a spin while he was in the area.

'His bike' being his HP2 with Supermoto kit and full Remus.

It took all of 0.00000000000001 of a second to say

YES PLEASE !!

And the verdict ??

WOW.....after owning over three dozen bikes in twenty four years of riding,I can honestly say it`s the first bike to leave me so exhilarated....almost breathless !!

That bike is truly AWESOME.

The exhaust note is horny as hell.

The throttle response is instant.

The torque is colossal...pure arm wrenching grunt.

Handling is as quick as your mind.

Braking,even though it`s single disc,is superb.

I`ve ridden two R1200GS and one R1200GS Adventure...and don`t rate them at all.

The HP2 I can`t fault.....it is a fantastic bike...a pure bike...a bike that is the very essence of what biking should be....fun,excitement and BIG grins.

The price is irrelevent once you`ve ridden one....

Many thanks,Vern !!!

:D

They`re both 'keepers' mate....never to be sold.

However,August 2007 will be ten years since I bought my red 1100 brand new, so I can forsee a '10 year anniversary' purchase......in the shape of an HP2. :beerjug:

my first one was a 97 too.... sadly missed.

stolen never recovered. oh well.

what was the gearbox like? on the HP2.

Smooth and slick....quick and easy to change gear.

Sweet,in a word.

I'm glad to hear that you are converted! How loud/obtrusive was the Full Remus system?

Steve, i knew it would happend! Really! Knowing few things about your bike's taste after seeing your collection in the garage :p

It also seems to me that the most horny about the HP2 are airhead and 1100 boys, inc. me. Me'll get it one day too, in the faaar future :thumb

Now start saving, eating sandwiches mostly, and stop waisting excessive loads of money on the wheel polishing liquids  :D

Cheers, Margus :beerjug:

It`s close to the sound of my 1100 with the Remus nearly straight through link pipe (rather than the intermediate silencer box under the gearbox) and Remus oval titanium Revolution can....perhaps a tad deeper or throatier.

Suprise.... suprise................me too

I thought it was awesome, when Pikeydave let me ride his

As near to a Dakar racer, as most of us will ever get

HP2's are stunning...............

If I had

a) longer legs
b) a bit more dosh
c) a lot more offroad experience

I'd be seriously tempted after seeing Pikey's beast in the flesh at the Hugmoist and being allowed to sit on it (with assistance, I'd have to have a set of steps to get on unaided!)

:bounce1 :bounce1 Good Innit :bounce1 :bounce1

I think the majority of people who slang them off have never seen one or never ridden one.The more miles I do on mine, the more it makes me larf.

Has anyone else worked out the overall mileage/hours run on theirs yet.Mine was 42.7mph oops

Hmmm....looking at that exhaust I think it's after!

Even after my reliability probs I still forgive it.

I put it in the context that no BMW is as high maintenence as Sabrina

Your right and its Friday cos you haven't yet got yourself cover in sh1t getting yourself or anyone else out who's daft enough to follow you
