The A550/A5117/M56 modification has begun, a two year project to eleviate the traffic congestion caused bt the Shotwick traffic lights and the Saughall roundabout.
The mods will enable a clean through route from the M56 into Wales to joint the A55 at Ewloe.
If your coming out of Wals heading, say to Manchester, I'd follow the A55 sign posted to Chester, rounding the Chester Southerly By-pass, then join the M53 and the onto the M56.
The conjestion this summer has been awfu due to the excellent weather during the school holidays.
Mechanical plant has been clearing the path of the new routes, giving an indication of the task in hand.
To be fair, whilst the traffic is using two lanes, filtering on a motorcycle is easy, but as the lanes will be narrowed and even reduced to single file this will be quashed, making the alternative given a must.
