couldn't make EME or princetown 'cos i was getting a couple of these old guzzi's ready for the trip down to mandello for the GMG event.

question is, how many will actually make it? none of these bikes are in factory fresh condition. no shit, sherlock? :D

should make a change from easy peasy crosssing of continents on modern bikes. a more intimate knowledge of roadside repairs & breakdown company performance awaits :)

Nearly covered 100 miles and already stopped due to Jessie getting a puncture.

Puncture fixed in 40 mins and having dinner in France allegedly after I asked whether they'd made it out of Dorset.

Isn't technolodgy great. Blokes wandering around Europe on old Italian pig iron can get photos of their breakdowns posted on the internet via their mobile phones within hours. And all for our amusement :thumb
 
Todays update from Cookie:

'Absolutly pissed down last night and this morning. Dave's bike drowned and got left behind. Currently scoffing wicked pasta in Mandello waiting for shop to open so we can get a new dizzy cap etc...'

Great news that they have got there, not that Dave's bike has drowned.

Riding my Guzzi back to Mandello is something I always plan on doing but never actually do it. As much as I like the GS I have absolutely no plans to ride it to the BM factory. :confused:

and complete foot brake fade away on the Col du Tourmalet :eek
but
i adjusted it and it was fine :)
until :eek:
it seized ON two days later :eek:
on the same feckin pass! :eek

mind you - better than last year, when ALL i had to do was...
replace the gearbox two days into the holiday :confused: :D

anyhoo....any news of the intrepid travellers?
