Thought I would share this story as it might happen to someone else,
Whilst in Austria one of my hella lights stopped working. Bought a new H3 bulb and it worked but the other stopped working.
Replaced that bulb and and then they both stopped
Finally traced it back to a bad earth in the steering stop but doing so blew fuse no5..... "Motronic"
Well at the time I didn't pay to much attention to it I just popped a new fuse in and continued the holiday.
Once returned and back in London traffic I noticed it was running like a dog especially between 2000 and 3000 rpm.
Did a search on hear and pin pointed a possible cure of resetting the Motronic by doing the remove fuse and turn throttle fully twice etc.
Well it worked and the bike is back running sweet again
But bugger me sideways ..... put surging in the search and then prepare to sit down for a week
Had i not traced it back to the blown fuse and the fact that my bike has never run badly I would have probably started spending a lot of unnecessary money.
So a big thankyou to all the combined knowledge and experience that is available from the search facility.
