Has anyone got, or has anyone seen one of these secure sheds?
Before I order my adventure, I need to widen the garden gate, and Im going to put in some sort of secure shed....Ive been looking around a bit and this one really impresses......

http://www.secure-a-bike.com/euroweb.htm

The space saving aspect is what attracts me a lot........they have a nice little video demo on the site so you can see it but basically u pull out a rolling tray affair thing with a slot for the wheels, and a front wheel cradle......so u ride onto it, secure the bike, slide the whole thing in, lock it, chain it, set the shotgun trap, poke the rottweiler into patrol mode then go inside to sit twitching by the window watching where your new baby is sleeping :p

Seriously though, Any advice/experiences etc welcome on this subject...theyre damned expensive at 1500 quid but if im spending 11k on a new bike that seems like a fair deal to me......

Ar...just looked again and this thing's thatcham approved too.

Lol...VERN...fancy a bigger challenge than top-notch panniers???

(ill be asking ya for some of them soon tho!)

Cheers in advance

It's very good - buddy of mine has one.

The ONLY negative is that the mirrors are just a bit too wide to fit in the £1500 model and you'd have to adjust the mirrors each time you used it.

A tidy piece of kit - had you considered buying a small freight container instead - I seem to see them dotted about at road works and building sites and these would be quite suitable also but not sure who might make/sell them.

AH..thanks......
I dont like the sound of having to move the mirrors all the time...i had that on a previous bike getting in therough the gates and they inevtably came loose in the end.......usually on motorways

One of the things about the euro thingy is it comes flatpacked.....weighs half a tonne even so, but to get a small frieght box into the garden i'd need a crane to drop it over the top of the house.

Do-able, but then id nned to do the same if/when i sell this place to get it out again, whereas the eurothingy can be dismantled.

And freight boxes are ugly.

Freight containers

I'ed steer clear of freight containers. Having worked in the shipping business for some time there are a number of issues with them not least the fact that they come in standard sizes of 20 or 40ft long by approx 9ft wide X 9ft high. So anything you buy is going to have been chopped down but will still be 9ft wide and tall unless its really been messed with. Once containers have been chopped around there are endless problems with the welds etc. Delivery will be a nightmare as they are bloody heavy and probably most important of all the shipping business doesnt sell of containers until they are completely shot so it isnt going to last for ever and getting rid of a chopped container is not going to be easy.

There are some specialist containers that are designed to go inside standard containers but these tend to not be particular weather proofed.
