One of my colleagues at work is having problem printing Japanese characters . We have installed the latest drivers we can find from the www but he still gets a load of dots. The problem is new - previously he was able to print Japanese characters now he can't. The document he is trying to print came in via Lotus notes but having cut and pasted it into a word doc and being able to see the correct image on screen it still prints loads of dots and not the correct Japanese characters.
The printer is a Xerox ??? something or other but he has the same problem on another printer.
Anyone have any suggestions what we can check next ?
Cheers

Embeded fonts

Was the font embeded when the original document was saved, if not and the original font was not installed on this computer then it will display OK but will not print because the font is not there.

When you save a document you get an option to embed the font in the document so it will print the special characters, also check the options to see if asian & japanese characters are allowed.
