Or anyone else in the know..Need a bit of assistance/advice

Looking to mount a Quest 1 primarily on a 650GS and secondary on a 12GSA.

What parts would you suggest for mounting to cover both bikes?

Preferably a cradle to hold the Quest with a power socket option(speaker not important)..

Thanks..

Hi Padge :thumb I asked RAM-man the same question, so I copied his reply,
see below. Hope it helps, someone also mentioned not to use the TT stuff.

My *own* view is the GA15 cradle with QPAC is a better
holding solution than the 010-10610-00 kit. This forum is littered with .. and..
has debated these issues previously. For your 11GS, then look at either RAM-
B-149Z-Q1 or a short arm version is RAM-B-149ZA-Q1. This mount has a
round base so pick up on the four holes in the Garmin bike bracket part (on
the pillars) with the screws/nut they provide.

:rob Don't buy a TT Quest mount......mine cost me one Quest unit, though TT said it was impossible

Nice looking, over engineered piece of shite that needs serious mods to make it work securely.

Mind you, now I've modded it, it looks way better than plastic bits :D

Dunno bout the TT kit, but have used Garmin's own cradle
kit and can back up what RAM man says - it is a piece of sh1t. Fell apart
after a week - tiny little contacts broke - now in bin.

Now use the RAM cradle and power supply with RAM arm and it works a
treat - vibration free, holds secure, contacts are solid - all in all a top bit
of gear.

The mount mentioned is to hold the Garmin cradle. If using the RAM-HOL-GA15 Quest cradle with QPAC0x-xx (four choices here with jack socket), I look at RAM-B-149ZA (short arm) with shim-bo adaptor, RAP-319 and fit onto the oval rail above the clocks on the 12GS/GSA. For the 650GS get a RAM-B-231Z u-bolt bracket with the intention of transferring 'tween bikes, so QPAC option will be better with a power plug option fitted instead of bare wire ends.
