Roughly the same, so that'll be a no then....................:(

Someone once told me that BMW in South Africa stands for Break My Windows.....not applicable to our 2 wheeled stallions of course but it amused me :D

I looked at this option when the exchange rate was 17:1. By the time I'd paid for the shipping, the duty, the VAT & the registration fees, I found it too much bother for the small amount of money to be saved.

The current exchange rate rules it out in my opinion ( £ 8000 + £1000 shipping + 10% duty + 17.5% VAT + registration & licence fees = approximately £11 750 for a GS).

I ended up getting my brand new pre-registered Adventure with all factory options fitted for £ 8 400 from my local BMW dealer.

A West indian colleage of mine insists it stands for 'Black Mans Wheels' and that white people are not cool enough to drive them.
