I'm coming to the end of my ISP contract (UTV ClickSilver) and I need to get an unlimited broadband connection. Does anyone reccommend any service in particular ? UTV have been pretty reliable, tho' not the best at being able to contact them is a downside. However, they're just too expensive compared to say Tiscali who can do an unlimited service for £17.99 per month (compared to the £19.99 I'm paying for a 6 gig download limit).

Opinions please. :nenau

How about EsatBT (yes, the BT stands for British Telecom) 2 meg line for 40 euro? You don't know how good you have it, you lucky, lucky, bar-steward! :D

According to the ISP reviews sites, Tiscali have the most complaints :nenau

Smeggy....you'll hear manyhorror stories and a few recomendations here I've no doubt- I'd suggest what you need though is an independant review site, and some recomendations from people IN YOUR AREA.

Tha later's really important 'cos of the way the cable companies in particular have evolved....NTL for example took over a lot of other companies and their infrastructure a few years ago, so what you get from NTL seems to vary widely depending on area and whose original kit and lines you're actually using.

You might also find that some people get really good bandwidth speeds from some companies but depending on your location (ie how close to the end of the line you are and what the local contention rates are) yours mightbe a lot worse.

Try these as a starting point for reviews.....

I've been with Smart for about 6 months, and apart from the glitch , them going bust, I've had no problems.
€35:00 a month incl line rental and unlimited download, free calls to other Smart users.
