my nephew is selling his (almost) mint 2001 hyabusa.
i fancy it as a toy for the summer - and he reckons it's a steel at £3500....

any one had one?
i don't need to ask if it's going to be fun - i can figure that much out - but...

can you do hundreds of miles in a day in comfort? how long does a back tyre last? any good for a week round europe? will it cost an arm and a leg to fix if something goes wrong?

any comments would be appreciated - good or bad.

thanks. . . . :thumb

Awesome bike . can get 2k from a rear tyre could fry it in an afternoon if you want :D :D

no more to service than a GS

Personally never found them comfy and preferred the position on my ZX 12

but lots of people love em and for a jap bike they seem to hold there value better than most:thumb

Make sure it has had the rear subframe modification/upgrade, they had a tendency to fracture. Do a google search to find the history on this failure.

ok-
now someone put me off buying it........quick!

quick......!

too late....reaching for the phone.......

Get it !!!

I had a 2004 model for a while.

Amazing power,very stable.

Long distance spoilt only by high pegs-the GSXR 1000 K5 that replaced mine was more comfortable for a week away.
