the 'Long Way Up! is coming your way!

Hi Everyone!

In August my brother and I are riding a sponsored motorbike challenge - the 'Long Way Up!' http://www.longwayup.org

We'll be riding from Matlock Bath to Land's End to John O'Groats and back to Matlock Bath, stopping off along the way to climb the three highest mountains in England Scotland and Wales - it'll take 9 days and we'll cover over 2,000 miles and climb a total height of 11,000ft. We're doing it to raise money for Cancer Research UK and the Acorns Children's Hospice Trust. I'll also be conducting research into motorcycle ergonomics and generally spreading the word about the benefits of motorcycling.

We'll be heading down to Land's End on Fri Aug 17th then heading off for Wales the next day taking a good route through Devon, Somerset. If anyone is interested it would be great meet up along the way (any good places to mee up? and cvan anyone recommend a cheap and biker friendly B&B at/near Land's End?).

Although its a way off, I'm looking for kind hearted bikers to support us. We've set up sponsorship pages on justgiving.com and would really appreciate people sponsoring us now. You can also dedicate our challenge to someone you know and we'll take a list of names on our journey! If anyone fancies joining in/fundraising, we'll also be organising opportunities to meet up. We also have Mick Extance joining us along the way so you might get to hang out with a Dakar legend! Keep an eye on our website for updates (I'll also post something on the forum nearer the time).

On the sat/sun why dont you stop in Ironbridge, I'll get a few gsers together and provide a few refeshments etc.

Hi! Sounds like a great idea but I'll be heading to Wales over the Bridge - I could meet up on my way down to Land's End if anyone is around on the Friday? Or if you and the others fancy a ride to the seaside on Saturday or Sunday I could arrange to meet people at the M4 services by the Severn Bridge on the Sat or I'll see you at Aberystwyth Sea Front on the Sunday! If you've never been, its a great ride out and there's heaps of bikes there when the weather's good! Let me know when you're around and we'll try and sort something!

Hi, when are you planning to climb Scafell? I live pretty close and if I'm around when you are there I could come and watch you come down !!
I've already been up it so don't need to do it again.
