Hi Everyone!
In August my brother and I are riding a sponsored motorbike challenge - the 'Long Way Up!' http://www.longwayup.org
We'll be riding from Matlock Bath to Land's End to John O'Groats and back to Matlock Bath, stopping off along the way to climb the three highest mountains in England Scotland and Wales - it'll take 9 days and we'll cover over 2,000 miles and climb a total height of 11,000ft. We're doing it to raise money for Cancer Research UK and the Acorns Children's Hospice Trust. I'll also be conducting research into motorcycle ergonomics and generally spreading the word about the benefits of motorcycling.
On our way back we'll probably be staying near Barnard Castle on the Friday 24th August before heading back on Saturday 25th so it would be great to see anyone that's around the area. If anyone fancies a ride out why not join us on our trip back to Matlock Bath - we're hoping to have a bit of a party there when we get back!
Although its a way off, I'm looking for kind hearted bikers to support us. We've set up sponsorship pages on justgiving.com and would really appreciate people sponsoring us now. You can also dedicate our challenge to someone you know and we'll take a list of names on our journey! If anyone fancies joining in/fundraising, we'll also be organising opportunities to meet up. We also have Mick Extance joining us along the way so you might get to hang out with a Dakar legend! Keep an eye on our website for updates (I'll also post something on the forum nearer the time).
